Kicking back during a lull in the action. Our Fort Davis neighbors included the crew from KTRK, the ABC affiliate in Houston, Texas.

TAKE A BREAK!

Bug proof, moisture proof and dust proof storage facilities were improvised as the need presented itself. This is one of the belly bays in the satellite truck.

Eating on the road is always intersting. Many of your square meals come on round buns. The cuisine at Uplink City was worse than being on the road. The nearest restaurant was 20 miles away in Fort Davis and was usually closed when you had time to eat.

Most of our food came out of an ice chest. Those of us who couldn’t escape to Fort Davis or Alpine ate a mixed diet of Lunchables, miscellaneous sandwiches, Chips Ahoy cookies, potato chips, lemon drops and Gatorade. The stores in Fort Davis have yet to completely restock on junk food.

But we survived and even managed to celebrate a birthday in the process.
